Whistles with the De.Co brand, (Municipal Designation of Origin)
Terracotta whistles are true small masterpieces of Apulian craftsmanship. They make a beautiful scene in many shops scattered throughout the Region and enchant with their bright colors and many different shapes that they can take. The Apulian tradition linked to clay processing is lost in the mists of time. But the feeling of genuineness and authenticity that its evoke should not be misleading, because each of these small objects is the result of a complex manual process that requires several steps and hours of work. Although production involves different areas of the Region, there is a town that can be defined as the "symbolic town" of the terracotta whistle, protagonist of the traditional Feast of Sant'Antonio Abate on January 17th.
What is this Apulian village that also hosts the Civic Museum of the Terracotta Whistle ?
