The SCILLA legend

Scilla is today a charming tourist site located on a promontory at the northern entrance to the << Stretto di Messina >>, in Calabrian territory. But the Scylla rock represented, in ancient times, the terror of all navigators of the Strait with its terrible dangers. According to legend, in fact, Scylla was a NYMPH transformed into a hideous sea monster, half woman and half fish, with six dog heads, because she dared to refuse the love of a deity.

Who was the divinity to whom the young nymph Scilla refused her favors ?
